Indian Seniors of Chicago celebrate 75th Republic Day of India and Shobha Yatra to Ram Rath

Indian Seniors of Chicago is a group that runs for the benefit of the senior brothers and sisters in Manav seva Mandir in Bensenville village near Chicago. On January 27, members of the group organized a program to celebrate the Republic Day of India and the Shobha Yatra of Ram Rath.

The event included a great birthday celebration of the existing members and a felicitation ceremony for the new members. Bipin Shah dressed up as India’s national flag bearer, Jyotsna Shah as Bharat Mata, Shivabhai as Gandhiji, Saroj Patel as Sushma Swaraj, Ramesh Patel as Yogi Adityanath and Nalin and Chandrika Shah as Gujarati Nagar Seth.

Ram Rath was led by the Group President Narsinghbhai Patel. Vinubhai Darji and Geeta Suthar and other members took part in the procession to Ram Rath. Bhupendra Suthar who was N.C.C. held a ‘C’ certificate and attained the rank of Lieutenant; He also presided over the Republic Day celebrations. Group presidents hoisted the Indian National flag and Pushpa Parekh sang ‘Ae Mere Vatan ke Logo’ that got all the members immersed in a wave of patriotism.
