
Maharana Association of North Americaorganizes Vijayadashami Mela in Arizona

The inaugural Vijayadashami Mela in Arizona, a vibrant and culturally rich event, marked a significant milestone. With over 1000 enthusiastic attendees, this day-long extravaganza, held on October 22nd (Maha Navami) enthralled attendees with its immersive cultural experience. An event where a multi-cultural community partnered with Maharana Association of N. America and showcased unity in diversity.
The event had a mesmerizing array of performances. Over 30 acts took center stage, showcasing talents in various forms, from fashion shows and singing to dance dramas and children’s fancy-dress performances. Attendees had the opportunity to step into the enchanting world of Ram Darbar through immersive photoshoots. The Ram Darbar setup provided a picturesque backdrop for capturing cherished memories.
The event also featured a dazzling showcase of multicultural fashion designers displaying their creations, seamlessly blending tradition with contemporary styles.
The crowning moment of the Vijayadashami Mela was the Shobha Yatra, a grand procession attended by over 150 participants. It was a vibrant display of cultural and religious significance, resonating with the spirited chanting of “Jai Sri Ram” and the rhythmic beats of Dhol. Adding a touch of charm to the event, children adorned Ramayan-themed costumes, paying homage to the rich mythology and traditions of India. The festivities came to an energetic close with the spirited Garba dance, a traditional Indian dance form, marking a joyous culmination of the celebration.
