Babulal Marandi Claims Kejriwal’s Resignation Due to Delhiites’ Dissatisfaction

Babulal Marandi, Jharkhand BJP President and former Union Minister, has attributed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s decision to resign to significant dissatisfaction among Delhi residents with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s performance.

Marandi noted that during his visits and communications with Delhi’s Jharkhand migrant community, he was informed about severe issues such as water flooding into homes, damaging vehicles, and high utility bills due to inadequate drainage and unaddressed civic problems.

“Residents are extremely frustrated with the Kejriwal government, accusing AAP of ongoing corruption,” Marandi stated in a post on X. He suggested that Kejriwal’s decision to resign is an attempt to avoid further damage to his reputation as he faces declining popularity.

Kejriwal announced his resignation on Sunday, stating he is ready for an “agnipariksha” (trial by fire) and would only return to the Chief Minister’s office if re-elected by the public.

The move has sparked a political debate. Critics, including the BJP and Congress, argue that Kejriwal’s resignation is politically motivated and delayed, with the BJP labeling it as a “drama” and accusing him of being a “CM on bail.” Congress dismissed the resignation as a “gimmick,” questioning its connection to any sense of morality.
