Rahul Gandhi to Hold Two Rallies in J&K on Wednesday

Senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will conduct two campaign rallies in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

His schedule begins with an interaction at the Radisson hotel in Jammu, starting around 11:25 AM, where he will meet with professionals. This will be followed by a Congress rally at the JK Resort ground at 12:30 PM.

Later in the day, Rahul Gandhi will address a second rally in Sopore, Baramulla district, at the government Higher Secondary School ground in Dangarpora, set for around 3:25 PM.

On September 23, Gandhi held two public meetings in J&K—one in Surankote, Poonch district, and another in the Shalteng assembly constituency of Srinagar.

The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president, Tariq Hameed Karra, is contesting the election from the Shalteng constituency.

The National Conference and Congress are collaborating in a pre-poll alliance for the J&K Assembly elections, with the NC contesting 52 seats and Congress 31. They have left two seats uncontested, one for CPI-M in the Valley and another for the Panthers Party in Jammu.

However, the two parties could not agree on five assembly seats: Sopore in the Valley and Banihal, Nagrota, Kishtwar, and Doda in Jammu, where both will field candidates for a friendly contest.

Voting for the second phase of the J&K polls is scheduled for Wednesday, with the third and final phase taking place on October 1 and counting of votes set for October 8.
