AAP’s Sanjeev Arora Vows to Cooperate with ED Amid Raids

Sanjeev Arora, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, stated he would fully cooperate with authorities following raids conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at his residence and office in Chandigarh.

Arora described himself as a law-abiding citizen and expressed uncertainty about the reason for the search operation, emphasizing his willingness to assist the agencies with any inquiries. He shared his thoughts on social media, saying, “I will cooperate fully with agencies and ensure all their queries are answered.”

The ED’s actions are linked to an ongoing investigation into alleged money laundering. In response, AAP officials criticized the central government, framing the raids as part of a broader campaign to intimidate opposition members.

Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia condemned the raids as a “witch-hunt” against AAP lawmakers, asserting that such tactics would not deter the party’s resolve. He noted the frequency of similar raids over the past two years, which have yielded no substantial evidence against AAP leaders.

Sanjay Singh, another AAP MP, echoed these sentiments, accusing the government of using state machinery to target opposition figures. He remarked, “Another morning, another raid,” highlighting the continuous pressure faced by AAP. Singh claimed that despite the Supreme Court’s reprimands regarding the filing of false cases, the ED persists in its actions, indicating a lack of accountability to judicial oversight.
