HM Shah Calls BJP’s Victory in Haryana Historic; Praises Performance in J&K

Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his delight over the BJP’s historic return to power in Haryana for a third consecutive term, while also commending the party’s performance in Jammu & Kashmir, where elections were held for the first time in a decade since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.

In a statement, Shah conveyed “heartfelt thanks” to the people of both Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the party’s success.

In the Haryana Assembly, the BJP secured 48 out of 90 seats, surpassing the required 46, while the Congress garnered 37 seats. In Jammu & Kashmir, the National Conference-led alliance obtained 49 seats, while the BJP performed well with 29 seats.

Shah highlighted the BJP’s commitment to Haryana’s development and credited the party’s victory to the unwavering support from farmers, the poor, and the youth for the BJP’s “double-engine government.” He congratulated Haryana BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and National President J.P. Nadda.

Criticizing the Congress for its “negative and divisive politics,” Shah noted that the people of Haryana have chosen the BJP’s decade-long track record of development over the Congress’s approach, which he claimed divides communities along caste and regional lines.

He remarked that Haryana, known for its farmers and soldiers, has sent a clear message to those who insult the country for political gain. Under PM Modi’s leadership, Shah vowed that both the Central and state governments will fulfill the aspirations of the people.

Shah emphasized that the BJP’s victories in recent elections demonstrate the public’s faith in the party’s “Politics of Performance.” He reiterated the BJP’s steadfast commitment to delivering results, saying that the party has been resilient against Congress’s empty promises.

Regarding Jammu & Kashmir, Shah commended the peaceful polling process, stating, “Historic elections have been conducted transparently.” He noted that, under Congress rule, the region faced rampant terrorism, but the BJP has restored democracy.

Praising the Election Commission and security forces for ensuring a peaceful election, Shah expressed gratitude to the people of Jammu & Kashmir for their participation and support for the BJP. He reiterated the party’s commitment to making Jammu & Kashmir terror-free and developing it like the rest of the country, calling it a top priority under PM Modi’s leadership.
