PM Modi to Launch Jan Aushadhi Kendra at AIIMS in New Delhi on Oct 29

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a new Jan Aushadhi Kendra at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Tuesday. The event will be attended by J.P. Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare.

Spanning 1,724 square feet, the new Kendra aims to provide over 2,047 quality generic medicines and 300 surgical devices at prices significantly lower than their branded counterparts, according to a press statement.

This inauguration marks a significant milestone in the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), which seeks to transform the healthcare landscape in India. The primary goal of this Kendra is to offer affordable and quality medicines to patients visiting AIIMS for various treatments.

The Kendra will cover a wide range of therapeutic categories, including cardiovascular health, anti-cancer treatments, anti-diabetics, anti-infectives, antiallergics, gastrointestinal solutions, and nutraceuticals.

This initiative is set to revolutionize healthcare access for the thousands of patients who visit AIIMS daily in search of affordable, high-quality medical solutions. The establishment of this Jan Aushadhi Kendra represents a significant step forward in the government’s commitment to ensuring that essential medicines are accessible to all, not just a privileged few.

In a bustling medical hub like AIIMS, known for its advanced treatments and expert care, this Kendra will serve as a beacon of hope, promoting equitable healthcare for all citizens, regardless of their economic status.

Currently, over 14,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras operate across India, benefiting nearly one million people daily. These Kendras reach the most remote and underserved areas, covering 780 districts.

The Indian government is actively working to expand this network to 25,000 Kendras over the next two years. This ambitious plan will enhance the availability of affordable healthcare and empower millions of citizens to access necessary medicines, fostering a healthier, more resilient India for future generations.

The Kendra at AIIMS is not just an addition to existing facilities; it symbolizes hope for countless patients seeking affordable treatment options in New Delhi. By offering a vast array of high-quality generic medicines at a fraction of branded prices, this initiative provides essential support for those struggling with healthcare costs.

It signifies a transformative shift toward a more inclusive healthcare system, ensuring quality treatment is accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status. This initiative reaffirms the government’s commitment to health equity, ensuring no citizen is left behind in the quest for quality healthcare.

The Jan Aushadhi Kendra at AIIMS stands as a powerful testament to the government’s dedication to building a healthier nation, empowering individuals with the right to affordable healthcare, and fundamentally changing how healthcare is perceived and delivered across India.
