Assault on Hindus, Sikhs will not be tolerated: Union Minister Bittu on Brampton temple attack
Following the attack by Khalistani extremists on the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Canada, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu expressed widespread anger and condemnation, warning that such assaults on Hindus and Sikhs will not be tolerated.
Bittu held Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responsible for the violence at the temple, attributing the situation to his lenient approach towards Khalistani sympathizers. “The situation in Canada is not because of any one religion. It is due to the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, who has divided the people there. People were going to the temple to celebrate festivals like Diwali but are facing such attacks,” he stated.
He accused Trudeau of failing to protect the Hindu community from intimidation and violence. “Canada’s PM is trying to hinder the peace of people from India, especially Punjab. Canadian police are protecting Khalistanis as they attack attendees, but no one is stopping them,” Bittu said.
He further emphasized that such attacks will not be accepted. “Attackers are raising slogans and openly advocating for Khalistan. I want to make it clear that this will not be tolerated. We will go to any extent to provide safety to people living in Canada. Those attacking are being funded to raise slogans for Khalistan. After this attack, the image of PM Trudeau and Canada has degraded. The Prime Minister always talks about peace, but it is unfortunate that such attacks are happening in his country,” he concluded.
In response, Canadian PM Trudeau condemned the attack on Hindu devotees at the Brampton temple, stating that acts of violence are unacceptable. Emphasizing the importance of religious freedom, Trudeau asserted that every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely.
In a post on social media, he wrote, “The acts of violence at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton today are unacceptable. Every Canadian has the right to practice their faith freely and safely. Thank you to the Peel Regional Police for swiftly responding to protect the community and investigate this incident.”
