United Senior Pariwar Chicago celebrates Christmas and welcomes new president Ramesh Chokshi

On Sunday, December 7, 2024, over 350 members of United Senior Pariwar, Chicago gathered at the Swaminarayan Mandir in Wheeling, IL, to celebrate Christmas and mark the occasion of electing a new president. The event was warmly hosted by Secretary Ramesh Chokshi, who welcomed all members and guests with enthusiasm.
The celebration began with a Deep Pragtya performed by singers Mrs. Aparna, Ms. Prachi, along with Mrs. Gitaben Patel, Mrs. Damyanti Dalia, and Mrs. Lata Dalia. Acharya Shree Rohitbhai Joshi led the puja with chanting of shlokas, while Shree Praduman Pathak and Mrs. Smita Pathak chanted the Hanuman Chalisa, explaining its deeper meanings and discussing Hindu Sanatan Dharm.
The festivities continued with a lively musical evening, featuring a performance by the Group of Jam Sesan. Main singers Abhijit, Aparna, Prachi, Subrat, and Shil performed a mix of classic and modern songs, creating a joyful atmosphere that encouraged everyone to dance along to the melodies.
During the event, President Virendra Patel announced his resignation and introduced the new president, Ramesh Chokshi, who will take office starting January 1, 2025. Mr. Chokshi was officially sworn in as the new president. Mrs. Gita Patel presented a warm greeting and flowers to Mrs. Jyotsna Chokshi, the wife of the incoming president.
The evening concluded with a delicious dinner, catered by the Swaminarayan Mandir of Wheeling, IL, providing a fitting end to a memorable celebration.
