Beyoncé ‘very honored’ as she wins Album of the Year Grammy for the first time

Beyoncé made history at the 67th Grammy Awards, winning Album of the Year for the first time in her career.

The global superstar beat out Charli XCX, Jacob Collier, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, André 3000, and Sabrina Carpenter to take home the coveted award.

“I just feel very full and very honored. It’s been many, many years,” Beyoncé said during her acceptance speech, standing beside her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

She added, “I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, all of the hard work.”

Top nominees and performers

Beyoncé led the nominations with 11 categories, followed by Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and Charli XCX with seven each. Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan each received six nominations.

The Recording Academy previously announced an impressive performance lineup, including Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, Shakira, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, St. Vincent, and more.

The Grammy Awards also featured:

  • Special performances for the In Memoriam segment
  • A tribute to Quincy Jones
  • Celebrations honoring the spirit of Los Angeles

A night of celebration and giving back

Hosted by Trevor Noah, the 2025 Grammy Awards took place at L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena.

As previously announced, the telecast helped raise funds for Los Angeles wildfire recovery efforts. Additionally, the Grammy Premiere Ceremony announced winners in 80 categories, while also supporting wildfire relief initiatives.
