Indian MPs launch Operation Sindoor campaign in Tokyo
An all-party delegation of Indian MPs began their diplomatic visit to Japan by paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Edogawa in Tokyo. Led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, the team includes MPs from BJP, Trinamool Congress, CPI(M), and Congress.
The tribute marked the start of India’s global diplomatic campaign under ‘Operation Sindoor’, aimed at exposing Pakistan’s role in cross-border terrorism. The Gandhi statue in Edogawa, unveiled in July 2024 by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, symbolizes Indo-Japanese friendship and peace.
The Indian Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, welcomed and briefed the delegation on their upcoming engagements with Japanese officials, media, and civil society.
This mission is part of a wider MEA-led global outreach involving 59 Indian leaders across 33 countries, presenting evidence of Pakistan’s continued support to terror groups and urging global solidarity against state-sponsored terrorism.
