
United Senior Pariwar Chicago celebrates Mother’s Day and hosts health seminar

United Senior Pariwar of Chicago celebrated Mother’s Day alongside a health seminar at the Swaminarayan Mandir in Wheeling, Illinois. The event brought together 325 members for a day of celebration, prayer, learning, and community bonding.
The program began with a heartfelt prarthna led by members, followed by a ceremonial lamp lighting (deep pragtya). Guests were welcomed with warmth, and the agenda of the day was introduced, including a special message in honor of Mother’s Day.The highlight of the event was a health seminar conducted by Dr. Parag Doshi, a respected cardiologist, who delivered an informative talk on heart health. He explained key aspects of cardiovascular wellness including heart anatomy, the role of arteries and valves, cholesterol management, artery cleansing, the use of stents and bypass surgery, proper diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes for long-term health. Dr. Doshi also took time to answer questions from attendees.
Following the seminar, May birthdays were celebrated with sweets, adding a festive touch to the gathering.
The event continued with a lively Antakshari (musical game) organized by a dedicated team, complete with prizes for the winners. Passport-size photos were taken for member ID cards, and donor acknowledgments were announced.The day concluded with a delicious lunch, bringing joy and nourishment to all who attended—a fitting end to a meaningful and engaging community event.
