FBI calls killing of Israeli embassy employees in DC an act of terror
The FBI has labeled the killing of two Israeli embassy staff members outside the Jewish National Museum in Washington, D.C., as an act of terror and a targeted attack against the Jewish community.
FBI Assistant Director in Charge Steven J. Jensen said the agency is fully committed to investigating the May 21 shooting, which claimed the lives of Sarah Lynn Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, both Israeli embassy employees.
The accused, Elias Rodriguez, 30, of Chicago, shouted “Free, free Palestine!” upon arrest. He now faces multiple federal and local charges, including the murder of foreign officials and firearm-related offenses.
Authorities described the act as brutal, anti-Semitic violence, with Attorney General Pamela Bondi vowing the harshest punishment for the crime.
