Diaspora in Japan backs Operation Sindoor
Members of the Indian diaspora in Japan have expressed strong support for Operation Sindoor, praising the Indian government’s firm action against cross-border terrorism and the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During an outreach event at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, a multi-party parliamentary delegation engaged with the diaspora, sharing details of India’s counter-terror response following the April 22 Pahalgam attack. The delegation was led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha and included BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi and Brij Lal, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M) MP John Brittas, and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid.
Diaspora members welcomed the interaction, describing Operation Sindoor as a turning point in India’s fight against terrorism. “We used to feel helpless during such attacks. But this time, India responded decisively, and it made us proud,” one attendee said. Another added, “I applied Sindoor to support the operation—it speaks to the heart.”
The delegation emphasized that Operation Sindoor marks a new phase in India’s counter-terror doctrine and reflects a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism.
“India, as the fourth largest economy, must ensure stability. Any attempt to destabilize the nation won’t be tolerated,” said a diaspora participant. Others echoed praise for PM Modi’s handling of the situation, while also criticizing opposition leader Rahul Gandhi for his lack of constructive comments.
MP Sanjay Kumar Jha noted the purpose of the outreach was to help the diaspora better understand the persistent terror threats India faces and Pakistan’s direct involvement through its state apparatus.
The Indian Embassy confirmed that the delegation highlighted Pakistan’s role in the Pahalgam attack and India’s subsequent retaliation, which neutralized nine key terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK. The team reiterated that “talks and terror cannot coexist.”
The event concluded with a moment of silence for the victims of the Pahalgam attack, as the diaspora stood united in support of India’s fight against terrorism.
