Devnani urges diaspora in France to preserve Indian roots

Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, speaking at a special gathering hosted at the Indian Embassy in Paris, called upon the Rajasthani diaspora to preserve their cultural heritage while pursuing success abroad.

Addressing a large gathering of students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and artists from districts including Dungarpur, Banswara, Jaipur, and Udaipur, Devnani said, “Do not let your roots dry up.” He urged the community to act as cultural ambassadors of India, especially in Western nations, where Indian traditions are gaining recognition and respect.

Devnani highlighted Rajasthan’s rapid growth in sectors like innovation, entrepreneurship, and green energy. “Rajasthan is now a leader in solar energy and a hub for startups,” he noted, also referencing key advancements in drinking water projects, infrastructure, and the digital village initiative.

The event was a moment of pride for the Indian diaspora, who responded warmly to the Speaker’s address. “You are the bridge connecting Rajasthan’s heritage with the global stage,” Devnani told the youth, encouraging them to share their skills and ideas with their home state.

Invoking the legacy of iconic Rajasthani figures like Meerabai and Maharana Pratap, he reminded the community of their responsibility to uphold the values of their motherland.

The Indian Ambassador to France, Sanjeev Singla, felicitated Devnani during the event, which also featured vibrant cultural performances by Rajasthani artists.

Continuing his overseas outreach, Devnani reached Berlin, Germany, on Saturday. He was warmly received by members of overseas Indian organisations and the local Indian community.
