Indian Seniors of Chicago mark June birthdays, Father’s Day, and talent show with festive gathering

The Indian Seniors of Chicago came together at Manav Seva Mandir on Saturday, June 14, for a joyful celebration honoring June birthdays, Father’s Day, and the vibrant talents of their members.

The program began with a devotional recitation of ‘Ganesh Stuti’ and ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ by birthday celebrants. Mithabhai Patel greeted each with a rose, and Bhupendra Suthar led the group in singing ‘Baar Baar Din Ye Aaye’ and ‘Happy Birthday’ to mark the occasion. A moment of silence was observed in memory of those who perished in a recent plane crash in Ahmedabad.
Indian Seniors of Chicago celebrate June birthdays, Father’s Day, and talent show Health and wellness took center stage with a light yoga session led by Umaben Desai, invited by Naveen Patel, offering attendees simple stretches for better mobility. Hemant Modi presented the financial update and acknowledged donors for their continued support.

Lunch was generously sponsored by Praveen and Jayshree Sheth in honor of Jayshree’s 75th birthday. The couple was recognized with a bouquet by group president Dilip Patel, who also shared Father’s Day greetings and distributed roses to senior fathers.
Indian Seniors of Chicago celebrate June birthdays, Father’s Day, and talent show The event’s highlight was a spirited talent show featuring Bollywood dance performances by Daksha and Satish Parikh, and Ami and Sanjay Hasoti. Vocal performances by Jayanti Oza, Bhadra Shah, Baiju Mehta, Bharat and Rita Gandhi, Deepesh Modi, and Ashwin Thakkar brought a musical flair to the celebration.

Looking ahead, Kantibhai Patel announced a floral arrangement event for August, and details of the group’s annual picnic on July 13 were shared by Chimanbhai and Naveen Patel.

The afternoon concluded with a group prayer and a communal lunch, leaving attendees uplifted and united.
