VHP of America’s ‘Support a Child’ program wins community praise; major fundraiser set for August 2 in Chicago

The Vishva Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA) continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of underprivileged children in Bharat through its widely acclaimed “Support a Child” (SAC) initiative. This effort has garnered strong support and appreciation from community organizations and individuals across the country—including IndoUS Tribune, which proudly joins in endorsing this noble mission.

Among the many community partners, FIA Chicago has emerged as a prominent supporter of the SAC program, which enables donors to sponsor a child for just $250 per year—covering essentials such as food, shelter, education, clothing, and healthcare. The impact is transformative: children who were once orphans, street dwellers, or from socio-economically backward or Naxal-affected regions are now flourishing in structured, supportive environments.

To further this cause, a special fundraising event is scheduled for Friday, August 2, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Manav Seva Mandir, 101 S Church Rd, Bensenville, IL 60106. The event will feature “Ram Ratan Dhan Payo,” a mesmerizing dance-drama performance by expert artists from Maharashtra, India.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to the SAC initiative, ensuring continued support for the children enrolled in the program. Attendees are encouraged to contribute through Zelle (donate@vhpachicago.org)—please bring proof of payment—or purchase tickets in person at the FIA Picnic this Sunday.

Even those unable to attend can still be part of the movement by visiting: www.supportachildusa.org

What Makes SAC Unique?

      • Children are selected from all over India, especially from conflict zones or communities facing extreme poverty.

      • Many are orphans, children of single parents, or from marginalized backgrounds—including those rescued from street life or red-light areas.

      • SAC hostels offer modern facilities with nutritious meals, certified schooling (1st–12th grade), libraries, playgrounds, and structured recreational activities.

      • Beyond academics, children learn yoga, art, music, and sports while being instilled with moral and patriotic values.

      • SAC alumni have gone on to become doctors, engineers, teachers, and even return as staff members to uplift the next generation.
