Nestled in the quiet suburb of Streamwood, Illinois, the Vedic Wellness International University (IUVW) has emerged as a vibrant center for wellness, culture, and learning. On July 29, 2025, news media journalist Jayanti Oza toured the institution at the invitation of IUVW Manager Deepti Shah, offering a rare glimpse into the university’s unique offerings.
The two-story building stands out in the area for its distinct spiritual and cultural ambiance. Visitors are welcomed by a beautifully crafted lingam of Lord Mahadev at the entrance, setting a sacred tone. Above, the ceiling is adorned with flags from various countries, representing the university’s commitment to global unity and inclusivity.
A highlight of the facility is a grand indoor water fountain, whose rhythmic flow creates a calming, almost musical atmosphere. The university features a state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of over 400, equipped with a sound system and LED screen, ideal for theatrical performances and cultural programs. An adjacent modern kitchen is designed to efficiently serve large gatherings. The center also offers holistic wellness through Ayurvedic therapy, led by Dr. Pushpa Shah, an expert practitioner. On the second floor, a sprawling yoga hall accommodates up to 400 participants. Dedicated rooms for classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, a conference room, and a library housing a diverse range of literature round out the university’s wellness and cultural mission.
An award gallery showcases the institution’s accolades and milestones over the years. Among its standout programs is a painting class led by art instructor Eva Contractor, who specializes in working with seniors, offering them a creative and therapeutic outlet.
