Three hospitalized after stabbing incident in Sydney home

Three people are in hospital after being found unresponsive during a welfare check at a residence in Leura, about 80 km west of Sydney, on Sunday morning.

New South Wales Police said officers arrived around 7:30 a.m. following concerns for the occupants’ wellbeing. Inside, they discovered two men, both in their 40s, suffering from multiple stab wounds, along with a woman in her 60s who was unconscious. All three were unresponsive at the scene.

Ambulance paramedics provided urgent medical assistance before transporting the victims to hospital. Police confirmed that both men are in serious but stable condition, while the woman remains critical. A crime scene has been established, and detectives have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The case follows another stabbing reported in Brisbane’s northern suburb of Zillmere last Thursday. According to Queensland Police, emergency services were called at around 6:14 p.m. after reports of an altercation inside a property. Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were found with serious injuries and rushed to hospital.

A 51-year-old suspect, believed to be known to the victims, was arrested shortly after and treated under police guard for a minor injury to his finger. Authorities emphasized there was no wider threat to public safety, adding that all parties involved were acquainted. A crime scene was also declared at the Brisbane property as inquiries continue.

The two incidents underscore rising concerns over violent crime in Australian suburbs, with police urging vigilance while investigations proceed.
