Indian Senior Citizens Chicago celebrate birthday, Ganesh Mahotsav, and Navratri with joy and devotion

The Indian Senior Citizens (ISC) of Chicago hosted a vibrant celebration at the Manav Seva Mandir, drawing around 370 members to mark September birthdays, honor Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday, and celebrate Ganesh Mahotsav and Navratri.

The event began with ISC presenting flowers to members with September birthdays, while special greetings were extended to Prime Minister Modi. Treasurer Hemant Modi shared the income and expenditure report for August, acknowledging donors who contributed to the community. Vice President Kantibhai Patel organized a flower show, and Bachubhai highlighted the significance of Shraddha Paksha. Shivabhai delivered a Teachers’ Day speech, and CV Desai announced the upcoming Garba at Manav Seva Mandir on September 19.

Navinbhai Patel provided details of a health camp at Itasca Swaminarayan Mandir on September 14, and Kantibhai Patel briefed members on a Naperville fundraising event for the Mokshadham Project. Bhupendra Suthar led the Ganesh festival Rath Yatra, followed by Navratri celebrations with Ras-Garba and Aarti.

The event concluded with thanks from Naveen Patel to volunteers, organizers, and sponsors, and members enjoyed a communal meal together.
