Chicagoland Nepali community celebrates grand Dashain-Tihar musical event

The Chicagoland Nepali Friendship Society hosted its annual Dashain-Tihar Musical Event on a lively evening at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, bringing together over 300 attendees from across the region.

The celebration showcased Nepali culture through a vibrant mix of music, food, and entertainment. Renowned Nepali artists Badri Pangeni, Pratap Das, and Elina Chauhan energized the crowd with live performances, while DJ Oza of Chicago provided high-quality sound and kept the audience engaged between sets. Guests also enjoyed traditional Nepali cuisine throughout the night.

The event was graced by notable personalities, including President Narayan Khadka, Event Host Anita Kunwar, and Chief Guest Balaram Ghimire, alongside representatives from local organizations supporting the Nepali community.

Established in 2007, the Chicagoland Nepali Friendship Society continues to unite the diaspora through cultural programs. Shyam Parajuli, Advisor and Former General Secretary, said, “We are proud to keep our cultural spirit alive in Chicago and grateful to everyone who made this celebration truly memorable.”
