The Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Dallas hosted a vibrant Navratri festival on Saturday at Otto Middle School in Plano, Texas, bringing together members, families, and invited guests for a lively “3G Raas Garba” celebration. The event opened with a warm welcome, complemented by traditional Gujarati treats including fafda, jalebi, and hot tea. A photo booth allowed attendees to capture memorable moments with friends and family.
Members celebrating October birthdays and anniversaries were honored with bouquets, and everyone joined in singing Happy Birthday. Stage management was handled by Shri Vitthalbhai Deora and Sharadbhai Patel. Esteemed sponsors Rajeshbhai Sanchala from New York Life, Romaben Peethadia from Affordable Insurance, and Realtor Sheetalben Balar offered guidance on health insurance, life insurance, financial planning, and housing. Around 25 raffle prizes were distributed during the program.
The festival featured a beautifully decorated Mataji altar, a grand aarti ceremony, and spirited Garba and Raas performances accompanied by DJ Sre, live music, and dhol. Guests enjoyed a wide variety of food, including panipuri, pavbhaji, pizza, and ragda patties, followed by ice cream during intermission. The evening continued with Dandiya Raas and Sanedo dances, spreading energy and joy throughout the hall.
The success of the event was made possible through the contributions of committee members Hirabhai Sutaria, Praveenbhai Pansuriya, Shantibhai Gabani, Praveenbhai Hirpara, Champaklal Cheta, Vinodbhai Ramolia, Vitthalbhai Deora, Balwantbhai Dhanani, Vitthalbhai Balar, and Secretary Nareshbhai Shah.
