Her lifelong dedication to public service will continue to inspire generations. My heartfelt condolences to His Majesty The King, the members of the Royal Family, and the people of Thailand in this hour of profound grief.”

According to the Bureau of the Royal Household, Queen Mother Sirikit passed away at the age of 93 on Friday at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok. She had been under continuous medical care since September 2019 due to multiple illnesses and complications.

Doctors reported that the Queen Mother contracted a bloodstream infection on October 17. Despite extensive medical efforts, her condition deteriorated, and she passed away peacefully at 9:21 p.m. local time.

Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua has directed officials to organize the royal funeral at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in Bangkok’s Grand Palace. The King has also declared a one-year mourning period for members of the royal family and royal court officials.

Queen Mother Sirikit, revered as the “Mother of the Nation,” played a pivotal role in promoting Thai culture, social welfare, and women’s empowerment throughout her life. Her passing marks the end of an era for the Thai monarchy and the people she deeply influenced.
