Indian envoy meets US Senator, lauds support for Indo-US counter-terrorism partnership
India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, met US Senator Jacky Rosen, expressing appreciation for her consistent support toward strengthening Indo-US counter-terrorism cooperation and addressing regional security challenges, including cross-border terrorism.
During their meeting, Kwatra briefed Senator Rosen, who serves as the Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near East, Central, South Asia, and Counterterrorism, on India’s ongoing trade engagement with the US and the expanding hydrocarbons partnership.
“Had an engaging conversation with Senator Jacky Rosen… We also exchanged perspectives on societal applications of Artificial Intelligence and the scope of cooperation between India and the US in this domain,” Kwatra posted on X. He also thanked the Senator for her “steadfast support” in strengthening counter-terrorism efforts between the two democracies.
Kwatra also met Ambassador Stuart E. Jones, President of the Middle East Institute, to exchange views on current geopolitical developments in West Asia. Earlier, he held a productive meeting with US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, focusing on trade, energy security, and regional stability, and reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for peaceful dialogue in the Ukraine conflict.
Last week, the Indian envoy also met US Senator Bill Hagerty, discussing ways to deepen bilateral trade, energy cooperation, and collaboration in the Indo-Pacific region.
These series of engagements underline New Delhi’s proactive diplomacy in bolstering strategic, trade, and security ties with Washington amid evolving global challenges.
