Endorsement for U.S. Senate

Support for Daniel Biss in the 9th District

The publication also endorsed Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss for the congressional seat being vacated by longtime Representative Jan Schakowsky in Illinois’ 9th Congressional District.

In its editorial, IndoUS Tribune cited Biss’s extensive public service experience, including his tenure in the Illinois House of Representatives and Illinois Senate, as well as his current role as mayor of Evanston.

The newspaper described Biss as a thoughtful and pragmatic leader who understands the diverse needs of the district, which includes a significant immigrant and South Asian population. It praised his engagement with community organizations and his commitment to democratic values, public education, and economic opportunity.

Encouraging Civic Participation

The editorial board said the endorsements reflect the publication’s broader mission of strengthening civic participation within the South Asian community.

“As South Asian Americans continue to grow in political influence across the United States, it is essential that our community remains actively engaged in the democratic process,” the board noted.

By endorsing Krishnamoorthi for the Senate and Biss for the House, IndoUS Tribune expressed confidence that both leaders possess the experience, integrity, and vision necessary to represent Illinois effectively in Washington.
