The Chicago community is invited to an evening of music and philanthropy as Sheela Shah presents “Dhadkan,” a benefit concert in support of the Parkinson’s Foundation. Scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Avery Coonley School Auditorium, the event is being held in loving memory of the late Dr. Dipak Shah. More than a musical performance, it is envisioned as a heartfelt tribute combining art, remembrance, and social impact.
Turning grief into action
With Parkinson’s cases rising globally, the concert aims to raise funds for critical research focused on treatment, prevention, and ultimately a cure. Organizer and lead singer Sheela Shah said, “We all have an urge in our hearts to make a better, safer future for our younger generation. This evening is a way for us to come together, support the cause, and celebrate a life well-lived through the universal language of music.”
A star-studded musical lineup
The evening will feature a performance led by acclaimed music director Hitesh Master and his orchestra, with vocal performances by Sheela Shah, Manmeet Kour, and Rajesh Chalam. The program will take guests through a curated musical journey, followed by a formal dinner designed to encourage community connection and support for the foundation.
