Netanyahu says tumor removed, confirms clean health status

Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that he recently underwent treatment for early-stage prostate cancer, confirming that doctors have found no remaining trace of the disease.

The 76-year-old leader shared the update as part of his annual medical assessment, stating that he remains in “excellent physical condition.” The condition was discovered during routine follow-up checks after a previous surgery in 2024 for a non-cancerous enlarged prostate.

According to the medical report, doctors identified a very small malignant tumor confined to the prostate, with no signs of it spreading. After consultations with specialists, Netanyahu opted for immediate treatment rather than continued monitoring.

He underwent radiation-based therapy, which successfully eliminated the tumor. Follow-up examinations confirmed that there is no evidence of remaining cancer, reinforcing the effectiveness of early detection and timely intervention.

Netanyahu also disclosed that he chose to delay making the information public for nearly two months, citing concerns about releasing personal health details during a period of heightened regional tensions, particularly involving Iran.

He expressed gratitude to the medical team at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem for their care and professionalism throughout the treatment process.

The Israeli Prime Minister used the occasion to emphasize the importance of preventive healthcare, urging people to undergo regular screenings and follow medical advice. His case highlights how early diagnosis can significantly improve outcomes in conditions like prostate cancer.

Despite the diagnosis and treatment, Netanyahu’s office confirmed that he continues to carry out his duties without interruption.
