‘Glimpses of Incredible India’ photo exhibit showcases India across the Pacific Northwest

A vibrant photographic journey through India is now captivating audiences across the Pacific Northwest as the traveling exhibition ‘Glimpses of Incredible India’ begins its regional tour, highlighting the beauty, diversity, and cultural richness of India through the lens of one of Seattle’s leading photographers.

The latest stop of the exhibit was hosted at Shoreline College, where President Jack Kahn led the inaugural session and shared his personal experiences from a recent visit to India. He was part of a delegation organized by the Consulate General of India in Seattle that traveled to India in March 2026.

The exhibit features a curated collection of photographs by acclaimed Seattle-based photographer Sam Horine, whose striking images capture India’s vibrant streets, everyday life, iconic landmarks, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and breathtaking cultural landscapes. Horine’s work has previously appeared in globally recognized publications such as National Geographic, The New Yorker, The New York Times, and Travel + Leisure.

The exhibition was originally inaugurated on April 26, 2026, at the Consulate premises by U.S. Congressman Adam Smith, Kent Mayor Dana Ralph, Tukwila Mayor Tom McLeod, and Issaquah Mayor Mark Mullet.

Horine’s photographs were taken during a ten-day delegation visit to India from March 9–18, 2026, organized by the Consulate General of India in Seattle. The thirteen-member delegation included distinguished professionals from Washington, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska, representing trade offices, local governments, universities, journalism, and the arts.

Following its successful opening events, the exhibit is now traveling throughout the Consulate’s jurisdiction. Upcoming stops include Oregon State University on May 2South Dakota on May 7–8, and Montana State University, Bozeman on May 12, with additional visits planned at major universities across the Pacific Northwest in the coming weeks.

Organizers said the exhibition seeks to present India’s pluralistic identity, scenic beauty, and the warmth of its people, while encouraging more young Americans to visit India and experience the spirit of Incredible India firsthand.

The traveling exhibit stands as a cultural bridge between India and the United States, using photography to deepen understanding and inspire global curiosity.
