
OFBJP Chicago celebrates BJP victories in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry
Overseas Friends of BJP hosted a community celebration in Chicago to mark the Bharatiya Janata Party’s electoral victories in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry, drawing nearly 300 attendees, including community leaders and members of the Bengali community.
The event combined political enthusiasm with cultural traditions, featuring Bengali delicacies such as jhalmuri, rosogolla and sandesh. Musical performances by Pushpita Chatterjee and a saxophone rendition of “Vande Mataram” by Vardaan Tiwari added to the evening’s celebrations.
The program began with the national anthems of India and the United States. State Coordinator Amar Upadhyay welcomed guests, while Chicago Co-Coordinator Rakesh Malhotra spoke about the election outcomes, describing them as a mandate for change and inclusive governance.
A moment of silence was observed in memory of party workers whose sacrifices were acknowledged during the event. Volunteers of the Chicago chapter were also honored for their dedication and service.
Speakers including Dr. Ram Chakraborty and Dr. Bharat Barai reflected on the significance of the election results and emphasized democratic participation, governance and community unity.
The evening concluded with continued celebrations and interaction among attendees, reflecting strong engagement within the Indian American diaspora community.
