DISHA USA, a Texas-based nonprofit focused on nonpartisan civic engagement, has launched a nationwide voter registration and civic education initiative through its website, dishausa.org, offering information and resources aimed at helping eligible Hindu American citizens participate in the U.S. electoral process.

The organization says the platform brings voter registration and election information together in one place, allowing users to check their registration status, register to vote, request an absentee ballot and access information about candidates, ballot measures and propositions. DISHA USA says resources are available in multiple languages and are designed to provide information relevant to voters at the state, county and district levels.

Founded in 2022, DISHA USA is registered in Texas as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The organization says it does not endorse or oppose political candidates or parties and describes its mission as promoting civic education and participation. Its stated principles include Dharma, Seva, Satya and Sangha, which it associates with civic responsibility, service, transparency and community engagement.

The initiative follows National Voter Registration Day on September 15, when election officials and civic organizations encouraged eligible Americans to register, update their information and learn about voting requirements. Federal and state election authorities generally recommend that voters verify their registration and polling information before an election.

DISHA USA says its broader programs include community forums, partnerships with Hindu organizations, civic leadership initiatives and educational programs. According to figures published by the organization, it has reached more than 50,000 community members, worked with more than 50 partner organizations, hosted more than 20 events and engaged more than 300 civic leaders.

The organization says its new website is intended to serve as a centralized, nonpartisan resource for Hindu American citizens seeking information about voter registration and civic participation.
