The vibrant Hindu American community in Chicago, led by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and local temples, is set to host a second spectacular car rally on January 14 to celebrate the much-anticipated inauguration of the Shree Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Following the success of the December 23 car rally, which included a procession of 100 cars visiting 10 temples and covering an impressive 120 miles in 9 hours, the community is eager to make the upcoming event even more grand.
In addition to Chicago’s festivities, the Indian-American community in California is gearing up for its own car rally on January 20, organized by the group ‘California Indians.’ Over 400 cars are expected to join the rally, embarking on a journey from South Bay to the iconic Golden Gate Bridge to celebrate “Bhagwan Shri Ram Ji’s homecoming.”
National Celebrations Across the US: Car rallies have become a widespread expression of joy and devotion across various cities in the United States. Hindu American communities in Washington, Houston, and other cities have organized rallies, making stops at temples along the way, all in anticipation of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
Houston’s Massive Rally: On a recent Sunday, members of the Hindu American community organized a massive car rally in Houston, stopping at 11 temples amid the chanting of bhajans and slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ Over 500 riders, adorned with saffron banners featuring the image of the Ram temple, the Indian flag, and the US flag, participated in the rally. The event was a vibrant display of cultural pride, marking the formal invitation from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA) to attend the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.
Month-Long Celebrations in Washington DC: In Washington DC, the Hindu American community gathered to commemorate the inauguration of the Ram Temple with a car rally in a suburb. Members congregated at the Shri Bhakta Anjaneya Temple in Ayodhya Way in Maryland. This event marked the beginning of a month-long celebration leading up to the grand inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.
Continued Celebrations and Live Feeds: As the excitement builds, temples across the US and Canada are preparing for simultaneous celebrations on January 22, providing live feeds from the Shree Ram Temple inaugurations. The diaspora organizations are uniting to make this a historic and memorable occasion, symbolizing the deep-rooted cultural and spiritual connections to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
