Adani Foundation Donates Rs 100 Crore for Telangana’s Young India Skills University

The Adani Foundation has announced a generous donation of Rs 100 crore for the establishment of the Young India Skills University in Telangana, aimed at creating a lasting impact for future generations.

During a meeting with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, presented the donation, emphasizing the commitment to empowering the youth of India. “I feel privileged to contribute to the transformative vision of @TelanganaCMO Revanth Reddy through the Young India Skills University initiative,” Adani shared on X. He further noted, “Together, we are not just shaping the future of our youth—we are unlocking their boundless potential for a brighter, more prosperous India. Here’s to creating a legacy that uplifts generations.”

The meeting was attended by Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, and other officials. Gautam Adani reiterated his foundation’s ongoing support for Telangana’s youth empowerment and skills development initiatives.

On August 1, Reddy announced in the state Assembly that Adani Logistics would partner with the Young India Skills University. The Assembly subsequently passed the Young India Skill University Telangana (Public-Private Partnership) Bill-2024, paving the way for a university designed to equip students with skills tailored to industry needs.

Notably, the School of E-commerce and Logistics will be launched in collaboration with Adani Logistics and O9 Solutions, with partner companies responsible for curriculum design, student training, and job placements.

Starting November 4, the university will introduce its first courses, initially hosted at the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) and the National Academy of Construction in Hyderabad. In its inaugural year, the university aims to train 2,000 young people across three schools: the School of Logistics and E-Commerce, the School of Healthcare, and the School of Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences. The board of the university is chaired by renowned industrialist Anand Mahindra.
