
Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago celebrate talent and community at the 2024 BSC Karaoke program

On December 21, 2024, the Bharatiya Senior Citizens of Chicago (BSC) organized the much-anticipated BSC Karaoke Talent Program at the Rana Reagan Center in Carol Stream, IL. Over 900 members attended the vibrant event, which showcased a variety of performances. The program kicked off promptly at 3 PM, with renowned singer and award-winning event emcee Bharti Desai leading the show. Her captivating personality and melodious voice captivated the audience throughout the event.BSC President Haribhai Patel welcomed all participants. More than 40 members showcased their talents, including renditions of Bollywood classics, Tippani dance, and choreography celebrating Uttarayan, Holi, Janmashtami, Navratri, and Diwali. Special performances included a film song from Pakeezah (“Mausam Hai Ashyana”) sung by Rita Patel, a storytelling segment about the Pandavas by Bhavin Kadakia, and the popular Gujarati song “Ame Amdavadi,” performed by Ramesh Bhrambhat. The performances also featured songs by iconic artists like Mukesh, Kishore Kumar, and Mohammad Rafi.
In parallel, Arvind Guna Patel, a committee member, held an exhibition of Shri Nath Ji paintings. To conclude the program, the BSC executives presented certificates of appreciation to all participants. The event’s success was attributed to the efforts of many, including Jayanti Oza, Jaya Baxi, Tariq Khan (Sound System), Pankaj Patel, Ramesh Rupani, Mahesh Danak, and Shilpa Desai. The program was so well-received that members requested to make it a biannual event.
