Chicago Andhra Association celebrates Women’s Day with great fervor

The Chicago Andhra Association (CAA) celebrated the International Women’s Day on March 9, 2024, at the National India Hub. The event attended by more than 400 women was coordinated by Gitika Mandala, Anuradha Gampala and Soumya Bojja under the leadership of President Swetha Kottapalli, Chairman Srinivas Pedamallu, and Vice President Srikrishna Matukumalli.

The theme for the event was ‘Purple color.’ All the ladies dressed up in Purple arrived enthusiastically for the event and had a memorable Women’s day!! The event comprised special contests like enacting advertisements from the 90s, making jewelry out of waste, decorating a doll, and fashion show. The competition created a sense of camaraderie and friendly competition among the contestants. Prizes were distributed to all the winners of the contests.

Krishna Jasthi from Occassions by Krishna with the help and guidance of Tamishra Konchada decorated the venue beautifully. Stage Decor and the Photo Booth were the highlights of the evening.

Malathi Damaraju and Dr. Saini Narwade hosted the event and ensured that the audience were engaged and entertained throughout the evening. Board of Trustees Sujatha Appalaneni, Dr. Uma Katiki, Dr. Bhargavi Nettem, Pavitra Karumuri, Malleswari Pedamallu, Sivabala Jatla also actively participated in the event.

Surya Datla and Aruna Datla from Cosmos digital provided photography and videography services for the event. The program concluded with an open dance floor, which was led by Mayuri from Nache Mayuri. She made all the women dance effortlessly with her instructions and foot tapping numbers. All the women rocked the dance floor for long, tirelessly.

Overall, the celebration was a grand success. The organization’s efforts in planning and executing the event was commendable, and they succeeded in creating a joyful celebration for all those who attended.
