The International University of Vedic Wellness (IUVW) in Streamwood, Illinois, marked Diwali 2025 with a spectacular celebration that brought together over 400 members of the Chicago community. The evening’s centerpiece was an awe-inspiring dance drama, ‘The Epic of Ramayan,’ presented by Gauri Jog’s Indian Dance School in collaboration with MAFS/UMAS.
The free community event brought the legendary tale of Ram, Sita, Laxman, and Ravan to life through mesmerizing choreography, vivid costumes, and expressive storytelling. The performance transported audiences into the spiritual world of the Ramayan, blending devotion, artistry, and cultural pride in a way that resonated deeply with all who attended.
Under the artistic direction of Guru Gauri Jog Ji, each movement and sequence reflected precision, emotion, and reverence for the timeless epic. The production was not just a performance, but a spiritual journey — one that rekindled the essence of Deepawali by celebrating the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
“What better way to celebrate Diwali than through the story of Ramayan?” shared one attendee, capturing the collective sentiment of the evening.
Dr. Santosh Kumar Ji, founder of IUVW and MAFS/UMAS, extended heartfelt gratitude to all supporters and participants for making the celebration a grand success. The program served as a reminder of how cultural traditions continue to unite generations, preserving heritage while fostering community spirit.
The night concluded with warm Diwali wishes and a shared sense of pride in the enduring power of India’s spiritual and cultural legacy.
