Federation of Indian Association honored veteran video and photo journalist Jayanti Oza with an excellence award for his contribution to the world of photojournalism. He was presented with the award by Somnath Ghose, Consul General of Chicago, out of nearly a thousand Chicagoans, for his services to the community and for his excellent photography skills. On this occasion Mr. Sunil Shah, Chairman of FIA Chicago congratulated Oza for his continuous service to the community.

Veteran journalist Oza, a native of Palanpur in Banaskantha district of Gujarat, has been settled in Chicago for the past 39 years. He is best known for his services as Gujarat State press photo and video journalist from 1970 to 1984. He has witnessed the era from black and white photography to digital photography. In the past, he has been awarded for his photos at Zoom Photography Awards and Agfa Photo Gevart. Many of his photographs have been published nationally and internationally.

He has been a photo and video journalist for the past 16 years at the Bharatiya Seniors of Chicago in Carol Stream town, as well as works for the FIA of Chicago and several other organizations. He is also serving as News Journalist for Gujarat Samachar USA Edition as well as US based Gujarat Darpan and other weekly publications in Chicago. He is also a Special Supporter for TV Asia.
