Hindu Mandir of Lake County celebrates Guru Purnima with grand Satya Narayana Katha

On the evening of July 20, 2024, the Hindu Mandir of Lake County in Grayslake, IL, hosted a memorable Guru Purnima celebration, featuring the Samohika Satya Narayana Katha. The event, which drew over 300 devotees, commenced with the Pujan of Lord Satya Narayana, an embodiment of truth. Fifty sponsors participated in this sacred ritual, which is traditionally performed on Purnima days and special occasions to express gratitude.
The temple provided all necessary Puja Samagri, and the rituals were conducted under the guidance of temple priests Pandit Anil Joshi Ji and Pandit Radha Krishna. They performed the Pujan of Lord Ganesh, Lord Satya Narayana, and Guru, while also explaining the Puja Vidhi and Vidhan to the attendees. Pandit Joshi Ji delivered an insightful discourse on achieving Bhakti and detaching from Karma, highlighting the importance of overcoming ignorance and egoism, especially in the current Kaliyug. His message underscored the value of commitment to one’s duties and maintaining strong family and social bonds.
In a special segment, the temple honored about 35 senior citizens, recognizing their significant contributions to preserving Sanatana Dharma and Vedic culture. The Guru Naman program saw senior citizens from various Indian communities being revered and gifted by younger devotees. Amitab Mittal, General Secretary of VHPA, was also honored for his extensive service in distributing Ayodhya Ram Mandir Prasadam across 850 temples in the USA.
The celebration featured a captivating Kathak dance performance by students from Kiran Chauhan’s IRadha Kathak dance school, showcasing spiritual grace through intricate poses and movements. The event concluded with a Maha Mangala Aarati and the serving of mouthwatering Maha Prasadam to all attendees. Pandit Joshi Ji blessed everyone with wishes for prosperity and success in their lives.
