Indian Seniors of Chicago organizes event to honor Father’s Day

The General meeting of the Indian Seniors of Chicago was held on Saturday, June 8 at the Mahalakshmi Hall of Manav Seva Mandir which saw a participation of over 300 members. The entire proceeding of the event was successfully managed by Mr. Chandrakant Patel. The event commenced with Mr.Bhupendra Suthar and other members reciting a Sarva Dharma Prathna and Shri Hanuman Chalisa. Then the treasurer of the organization, Shri Hemant Modi, presented the income and expenditure account for the month of May and announced the names of the people who donated to the organization.
Mr. Bhupendra Suthar called the seniors whose birthday falls in the month of June. These members were then honored with flowers which were presented by the chief guest, Mayuriben. All members participated in birthday wishes, sang songs and indulged in merry making.
Gujarati film producer Mr. Ramesh Punatar gave information for Father’s Day and his acclaimed movies ‘Mane Lei Ja’ and ‘Kasumbo.’ President of the organization Mr. Dilip Patel gave information about the upcoming picnic organized for the members.
Dilip Patel presided over the ex-executive committee members appreciation program. Dr. Narsinhbhai Patel, Mr. Chittaranjan Desai, Mr. Bipin Shah and Mr. Nalin Shah were felicitated on behalf of the organization for their active work as members of the Executive Committee and their various activities were noted and honored.
The Father’s Day celebration was conducted by Panna Shah and Daksh Parikh. They sang a song befitting the occasion and talked about the place and importance of a father in life. On this occasion, Shri Narsinhbhai Patel, Shri Chittaranjan Desai, Shri Nalinbhai Shah, Bipinbhai Shah, Shri Shiva Patel and Shri Sarad Shah were felicitated on behalf of the organization and each was presented with a bouquet.
Group President Dilip Patel thanked all participants and Jayanti Oza (News Media Journalist), Satish Parikh and Pravin Darji for their help. At the end, the members departed after singing prayers and enjoying a delicious lunch.
