By Hemant Patel
Indians in the United States are reaching out to request the support of consul generals in standardizing the Celebration of Indian National events. Hemant Patel, an Indo-American activist and a front-runner for this cause said, “For NRIs, India still is our emotional pride. With the unparalleled global leadership of Modi ji, we would like a graceful display of our national pride days.”
“We would like to instil pride, education, and respect in the next generation through different programs including the Indian National Festival parade. In the last several years, the standards of these pride days have been less than perfect with multiple organizations hoisting the Indian flag. In an effort to attract higher attendance, they have been using uncanny tactics. These include but are not limited to inviting Indian TV and movie personalities. Who not only does not display graceful behaviour or Indian attire that is the representation of our pride heritage”, he added. He presented various recommendations for the standardization process and requested the Home Ministry of India to help standardize the process Internationally.
