
Grand finale of Mahakumbh: Devotees gather for Maha Shivratri’s sacred bath

The last royal bath of the Mahakumbh on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri witnessed an overwhelming gathering of devotees at the Sangam in Prayagraj. Among those participating in the holy dip were Aman Jain, Anuj Madan, Arvind Kumar, and Mohit Sood from Ludhiana who performed sacred rituals and prayers for universal well-being.
At the Siddh Peeth Mahabali Sankatmochan Shri Hanuman Mandir in Shankaracharya Nagar, a grand series of havan yajnas and an evening devotional program were organized under the leadership of temple head Aman Jain. The 1247th havan yajna was performed by the Bansal and Dhir families, offering final oblations with prayers for global peace. The rituals were conducted with full Vedic traditions by temple priests Pandit Vishnu Ji, Pandit Devi Dayal Ji, Pandit Ram Ji, Pandit Sanjay Ji, Pandit Suresh Ji, and Pandit Narayan Ji.
During the Sandhya Chowki, devotional singers Rishi Jain and Rohit Dang mesmerized the devotees with their bhajans. Prominent attendees included Tushita Gulati, Neetu Gulati, Chanda Gupta, and Faridkot Sub-Divisional Magistrate Tushita Gulati, who were honored by the temple administration, including Aman Jain, Rishi Jain, Anuj Madan, Saurav Jain, and Jyoti Gupta.
Historic Maha Shivratri Snan at Mahakumbh
On the concluding day of Mahakumbh, over 2 crore devotees are estimated to have taken a dip at the Triveni Sangam, believing it to be a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual blessing. Aman Jain, Anuj Madan, Arvind Tillu, and Mohit Sood, representing Siddh Peeth Mahabali Hanuman Mandir, participated in the sacred bath, offering prayers for the well-being of all. Expressing gratitude, they said, “After 144 years, we are fortunate to experience this divine bath, blessed by our ancestors, gurus, and deities.”As per Hindu scriptures, Mahakumbh is held at Prayagraj due to the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswatirivers. Legends state that drops of amrit (nectar of immortality) fell here during a battle between gods and demons, making it one of the four sacred Kumbh Mela locations.
65 Crore Devotees Participated in Mahakumbh
Rishi Jain and Saurav Jain highlighted that the 45-day-long Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025 has been the world’s largest religious gathering, with over 65 crore devotees taking a holy dip. The grand spiritual event brought together saints, sages, and pilgrims from across the world, marking it as a historic congregation of faith, culture, and tradition.
Notable participants on Tuesday included Somnath Markan, Rahul Handa, Deepak Ghai, Sandeep Pabbi, Narinder, Bharati Soni, Ved Luthra, Anil Jain, Vikram Gupta, and Satish Dang, among others.
