The Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) in Chicago marked the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) decisive victory in the Delhi elections with grand celebrations, reaffirming their support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and vision for development. The event brought together Indian community leaders, BJP supporters, and distinguished guests, reflecting the diaspora’s deep political engagement.

Dr. Najma Heptulla, former Deputy Speaker of the Rajya Sabha and former Minister of Minority Affairs, was the chief guest at the event. She highlighted the significance of democracy in a diverse country like India and emphasized BJP’s role in fostering national unity and governance. She also criticized the outgoing Kejriwal government, citing corruption and governance failures. “The people of Delhi have chosen progress over misrule,” she remarked.

The celebration began with a spiritual invocation, featuring the chanting of the Shanti Mantra by Rohit Joshi and Dushyant Patel, followed by a patriotic song performed by Prerna Awasthi and Kavita Gupta. National Social Media Coordinator Nirmala Reddy and OFBJP State Coordinator Amar Upadhayay welcomed attendees, expressing gratitude for their steadfast support.

Reflecting on BJP’s victory, Rakesh Malhotra, President of OFBJP Chicago, lauded the electorate’s decisive mandate. “Bharat ki mitti ki shaan hai BJP, vikas aur vishwas ki pehchaan hai BJP,” he declared, underscoring the people’s desire for progress. He highlighted critical issues such as air pollution, drinking water, and traffic congestion—challenges he said the Kejriwal administration failed to address.

Nirmala Reddy emphasized that the victory was not just political but an endorsement of BJP’s commitment to transparent and effective governance. Amar Upadhayay noted the crucial role of women and the middle class in BJP’s success, pledging continued efforts toward safety, employment, and urban development.
