
Indian Seniors of Chicago celebrate Ram Navami and Hanuman Janmotsav

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, over 350 members of the Indian Seniors of Chicago gathered at the Mahalaxmi Hall of Manav Seva Mandir, IL, for a special meeting to celebrate Ram Navami and Hanuman Janmotsav. The event commenced with members born in April reciting Ganesh Stuti and Shri Hanuman Chalisa, followed by a heartfelt birthday celebration led by Bhupendra Suthar, where all April-born members were honored with rose bouquets from Vinubhai Darji and Pallavi Darji.
Umaben Desai led a session of exercises and yoga asanas suitable for seniors, encouraging everyone to participate. Treasurer Hemant Modi shared the March income and expenditure report and acknowledged the donors who contributed to the organization. Dilip Patel recognized donors for their generous contribution towards purchasing a pair of televisions for the group.The event also highlighted the efforts of Vidya Jyoti Sanstha with Ashok Potdar and Pratibha Jairath, who spoke about the organization’s activities and invited members to a program on April 27, 2025. Yash Desai provided insight into the Vatslya Gram project and encouraged donations.
The Ram Navami and Hanuman Janmotsav celebrations included a vibrant procession led by Bhupendra Suthar, who delivered a heartfelt speech on Shri Ram Bhagavan. Twelve sisters performed a welcoming dance with lamps, followed by a grand Ram Shobhayatra, complete with devotional songs and Garba. The event concluded with the Aarti of Shri Ram and Shri Hanuman, and members were served Peda Prasad. A South Indian lunch followed, wrapping up the memorable day.
