Hindu YUVA USA hosted scholar and author Dr. Sachin Nandha for a multi-campus United States lecture tour in October as he discussed his acclaimed book, ‘Hedgewar: A Definitive Biography.’ The sessions took place across major American universities and drew students and academics who examined his research on Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Speaking on Wednesday during one of the events in Chicago, Dr. Nandha said Hedgewar’s work centered on cultural renewal, civic responsibility, and rebuilding social capital after years of British colonial rule. He noted that the biography seeks to separate myth from documented history and aims to provide a balanced picture of Hedgewar’s continuing influence on Hindu identity.

Throughout the tour, students discussed themes of decolonization, identity, and the impact of colonial narratives on how postcolonial communities understand their heritage. Hindu YUVA organizers said their goal is to promote open dialogue rather than ideological alignment and emphasized the value of respectful debate.

Hindu YUVA USA, a national student organization, conducts cultural programs, community service initiatives, and educational discussions to build leadership and civic engagement among Hindu youth.
