
Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled raises $15,000 at Naperville concert

Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, Chicago, hosted a heartwarming fundraising concert at the Matrix Club on Wednesday, raising nearly $15,000 in a single evening. The event, supported by the Consulate General of India in Chicago, brought together over 350 attendees to celebrate and support the “Samarthanam Sisters” and their mission of empowering children with disabilities.
Though the concert was free to attend, donations from across Chicagoland totaled $55,000, reflecting the community’s generosity and commitment. Special appreciation went to Ajeet Singh and Vinesh Virani for championing the initiative. Consulate General Somnath Ghosh congratulated the team, noting that “Samarthanam USA is a registered public charity that demonstrates inclusion works.”
Founded in India, Samarthanam operates in 19 cities, holds UN ECOSOC consultative status since 2015, and is CRISIL-rated for financial transparency. With over 800 employees, 40% of whom have disabilities, the organization promotes inclusive empowerment through education, skill development, arts and music, health initiatives, assistive technology, and sports, including the Cricket Association for the Blind in India and the USA.
The evening, supported by sponsors including Belly Delhi Restaurant, FIA Chicago, Simply South Pure Indian Restaurant, The Matrix Room, Meg’s Lounge, VHPA Chicago, Moksha Dhaam Chicago, Art of Living, I USA Media, JSN Network, and Wyndham Garden, celebrated music, compassion, and community impact.
