Spiritual storytellers play a vital role in guiding youth toward values and Dharma, say Aman Jain and Anuj Madan

Spiritual storytellers, or katha vachaks, play an essential role in shaping the character of today’s youth and guiding them toward a life rooted in Dharma, said Aman Jain, President of the Siddh Peeth Mahabali Sankatmochan Shri Hanuman Mandir, and Anuj Madan, the temple’s Vice President.
Speaking after a special meeting with renowned storyteller Rajan Ji Maharaj, Jain and Madan emphasized that katha vachaks hold a unique place in society. Through their narrations of sacred texts, they convey teachings in a simple, engaging, and emotionally compelling manner, making religious learning accessible and inspiring.
“They help instill moral values, preserve our cultural heritage, and encourage spiritual growth,” Jain noted. “A true katha vachak lifts people out of worldly attachments and directs them toward God, strengthening harmony and cultural values within society.”
Rajan Ji Maharaj is currently delivering a Shri Ram Katha at the Tapovan Ashram of Dandi Swami Maharaj in Civil Lines. Jain said they felt blessed to meet him at the residence of Ashok Kumar Gupta, where the revered storyteller was staying. Acharya Deepak Shastri, Chandermohan Dawar, and Prince Chhabra were also present for the meeting.
During the visit, Jain and Madan honored Rajan Ji Maharaj with a temple memento and a ceremonial shawl.
Jain expressed that it is through enlightened storytellers like Rajan Ji Maharaj that devotees gain deeper understanding of the Shrimad Bhagavad Katha, the Puranas, and other ancient scriptures — learning about life’s purpose and the true nature of the Divine.
Vice President Anuj Madan added that revered saints and storytellers are “priceless treasures of our culture,” preserving the vast history of Sanatan Dharma and presenting glimpses of India’s ancient epics and traditions. “Their wisdom strengthens our cultural identity,” he said. “For generations, their teachings have helped us understand our rich spiritual heritage. Honoring such divine personalities is not only our duty but our privilege—one we will always uphold.”
