Student returning from Canada visits temple, underscores importance of cultural roots
By: Dr. Avi Verma
While many students studying abroad are perceived to drift away from their cultural and religious traditions, some continue to remain deeply connected to their heritage.
After returning from Canada, student Anshuman Davar visited the Siddh Peeth Mahabali Sankatmochan Shri Hanuman Temple and sought blessings at Shri Balaji Maharaj. Temple authorities welcomed him and marked the visit with a brief felicitation.
Members of the temple committee highlighted that nurturing cultural values and understanding one’s history is a vital responsibility for families and communities. They noted that maintaining a connection with tradition is possible regardless of where one lives, and young people should be encouraged to stay informed about their heritage.
Community representatives added that concerns about youth adopting foreign cultures underscore the need for stronger efforts to familiarize children with Indian traditions from an early age.
Davar emphasized the role of family guidance in staying connected to cultural roots and stressed the importance of awareness among the younger generation about India’s culture, history, and spiritual traditions.
