By Vandana Jhingan
In a first-of-its-kind endeavor, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA), and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of Canada announced the commencement of the Ram Mandir Rath Yatra, that involves visiting more than 851 mandirs (Hindu temples) in America and 150 mandirs in Canada.
The Yatra begins on March 25, 2024, from the World Hindu Council of America Hindu Center in Sugar Grove, IL. A specially adorned van will carry statues of Shree Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman, along with Ram Lalla Pratikruti and Kalash of Prana Pratishtha Pujit Akshat. The Yatra will stretch from around 45 to 60 days, and will conclude on April 23, 2024, which is considered an auspicious day of Shree Hanuman Jayanti, back at Sugar Grove, IL, having visited over 1,000 temples across both nations.
Organizers are inviting volunteers to participate and to register at yatra.rammandir2024.org
