
Vasad Parivar of Chicago hosts joyful summer picnic in Elk Grove Village

The Vasad Parivar of Chicago hosted its annual community picnic for 2025 at the Elk Grove Village, bringing together more than 150 people from across the Chicagoland area. Sponsored by the Daughters of Vasad, the event celebrated unity, culture, and joy in a vibrant outdoor setting.
Attendees enjoyed a delicious array of traditional and modern dishes, lovingly prepared by community volunteers. From savory snacks to full-course meals, the food was generous, well-organized, and a highlight of the day.
The afternoon featured a variety of games and activities for children and adults alike, sparking laughter, dancing, and friendly competition. A special moment came with the presence of chief guest Pravinbhai B. Patel from Canada, founder of the Vasad Parivar Picnic. Reflecting on the first gathering in 1992, he praised the community’s dedication to preserving cultural roots while living abroad.Elders, youth, and volunteers were applauded for their planning, participation, and heartfelt hospitality. More than just a picnic, the event strengthened bonds and cultural pride within the Vasad community. Excitement is already building for future celebrations.
