The Vrindavan Association of North America (VANA) hosted a grand Mahasabha at the ISKCON Temple in Chicago, uniting members from across the U.S. The event welcomed city dignitaries and featured a special address from Mr. Somnath Ghosh, Consul General of India in Chicago, who commended VANA’s efforts in preserving Indian culture and traditions abroad.
VANA’s mission, founded on six pillars—health care, education, migration, entrepreneurship, smart villages, and community development—aims to uplift the Yadav community. What began with just 10 volunteers has now grown to 440 members, including 123 students.
The gathering included prayers for world peace, followed by a captivating cultural performance by the Radha Troupe, directed by Kiranji, showcasing traditional dance. Distinguished guests such as Dr. Sombabu and Dr. Krishna Mohan shared insights into VANA’s accomplishments.
Over the past year, VANA has sponsored tuition for students in India, supported families facing medical crises, and conducted more than 30 educational and informational sessions. The organization also launched its official website, vrindaavan.org, to enhance member connectivity and outreach.
The event provided a unique opportunity for members to meet in person for the first time, strengthening bonds and fostering collaboration. VANA’s leadership, including President Raj Karan and Vice Presidents Murthy Angadala and Dr. Srinivas Erra Gola, reiterated their commitment to supporting Yadav families in North America and beyond.
