Ariana Grande says she has no memories of ‘a few years’
Singer-actress Ariana Grande has revealed that she has no memories from “a few years” of her life.
The 31-year-old star admitted to experiencing a significant memory gap and struggling to recall events from a certain period.
Speaking on the SmartLess podcast with host Will Arnett, Grande was reminded of a past appearance on a “weird” UK talk show. However, she had no recollection of it, saying, “I’m missing a couple of years. I’m super serious from that time. I’m literally missing a few years.”
Arnett jokingly responded that her behavior on the show had been “disgraceful” before reassuring her, “No, you were great.”
Another memory the We Can’t Be Friends hitmaker failed to recall was inviting podcast co-host Sean Hayes to a sleepover during their time working on Hairspray Live! in 2016, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
The 54-year-old actor recounted: “I don’t know why I’m remembering this, but one of the cutest, greatest things you ever did — this was around 10 years ago when we were doing Hairspray Live!
“We were sitting in the makeup trailer, and you said to me, ‘Hey, there’s a few of us going to my house later tonight, we’re going to get totally wasted and then sleep over, and in the morning, my mom’s going to make us pancakes.’”
Hayes found the invitation “so sweet” but declined, telling Grande, “Ariana, I am 45 years old!”
Responding to the story, Grande said, “I can’t believe that that’s how I would have ever said anything ever, and I actually do remember that cast party. That was so funny. … It was a long time ago.”
During the podcast, Hayes also praised Ariana’s boyfriend, Ethan Slater, calling him a “really good friend.”
Grande, who stars alongside Slater in Wicked, responded, “Yes, he loves you so much.”
Hayes added: “I love him too. Ethan Slater. He’s one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet in your life. He did Good Night, Oscar with me in Chicago. And then he was on Wicked, and now you guys are dating, and I love that because you guys make a perfect couple.”
